In , the garages were much smaller and did not contain buttons to open the garage doors. In , louis updated the game to make the build bricks section of the map bigger and added more race tracks to the map.

With this update also came with a save system; though obsolete, it was very reliable at the time and also improved over time. Around mid, he once again remodeled the map and overhauled the race track to what it is now. Around this time, a user named iThatguylawl has stolen the game and uncopylocked it, leading to many copies of louis's game in the public and many knockoffs and inspired games.

This, in turn, caused louis to quit Roblox for a time period due to his work being stolen, and after a while returned to once again remodel the game to what it is today. As of July 28, , it has had its last update, and as a result, many other popular fan made versions of the game and inspired places have been created, such as Build and Race: Resort, Build Your Own Mech , and a remastered version of the game created by TigreBlood.
