Roxio references along with the version number v1. It happens to be there due to Windows Media Player v9 being installed that contains a Roxio plugin subdirectory with dlls', executables etc. I have the latest hotfixes from MSoft for Media Player v9 and I can't upgrade to media player 10 or 11 since these will only install on XP. I ran these and it didn't flag any of the roxio files as problems. Any comments or solutions? I sent a e-mail to AVG asking why their isn't any mention of the Roxio conflict.
So far I have not received a reply. Does anyone have any insight as to why Roxio and AVG refuse to recognize that there is a problem? I searched the registry for roxio leftovers that MSoft may have not removed when the released Win 2K or any of the service packs.
I didn't find anything that stood out. If I remember the device properties on the file indicated roxio. They may have even paid a 3rd party to develop it for them. That third party software developer may have been Roxio.
Really considering upgrade of hardware, but until then just trying to keep this old girl working Thanks again. As Seen On. Welcome to Tech Support Guy! Latest posts. M A moment ago. Question audrey 0. Report post. Posted November 17, From what I can tell there isn't any burning software on the unit. Could there be a leftover DLL or some other remnant of a previous install causing the issue? This is not my system, so I am unsure of the history of the software that has been on the machine.
Thanks, Nick. Hi, Yes I think that Roxio leaves or changes settings, leaves some files on the system, even if uninstalled Roxio, is now owned by Sonic Solutions All of Adaptec's CD recording software products were moved to the Roxio label. In August , Roxio's consumer software division was purchased by Sonic Solutions. As Seen On. Welcome to Tech Support Guy! Latest posts.
