Windows 10 KB 21H2, 21H1 released with bug fixes. Home Windows 10 PC. Although, trying to run Windows malware seems more interesting…Its actually surprising, such that you have to create the scenario and conditions to actually make malware workable! Yes, IE is faster because the OS preloads most of its libraries. But nonetheless, it IS faster. For tabbed browsing wtih IE engine, you can use something like Maxthon.
Personally I still use Firefox. You could also try fvwm. I used that on my Slack box until it was upgraded to Ubuntu. It's quite similar to the old NeXT desktop. The leanest that come immediately to mind are fluxbox, blackbox and XFCE. One of the key advantages of Linux is its incredible flexibility. You can choose to install anything the way you want it. Completely compile it to be optimised for that system.
To say they just "improve performance" isn't enough without having at least some ballpark idea of just how much. Last edited: Feb 4, For recording any percentage is a benefit.
In regards to the process's though. Turning something off that shouldn't be will only not allow something to run that was needed that. The best approach is using what I did above. As mostly only the MS stuff will need to stay. But worst case is you just go back and allow a certain process to run and your good as new.
DONT do it. Whale Bone New member. You can remove most of the components without ever noticing, but keep an eye out when you're going through the list. Once you've set up your components for removal, click Next to advance to the next step. You'll see different steps depending on what options you gave the green light to earlier, like system tweaks. Here you can conduct all sorts of simple system tweaks that can help with your performance. For example, check out the Performance options for various tweaks.
Likewise, you can save on performance overhead by tweaking options in the Visual Effects section. Some, like disabling window animations, can boost performance, while others are more a matter of taste. Like the Components section, you may want to spend a few minutes deciding what you prefer in this section. Don't stress too much about these choices, though, as none of them should really make anything go wrong with your install. Finally, if you're happy with all the tweaks you've made so far, click Next to start building your new, streamlined Windows installation.
Now that you've created your very own trimmed-down Windows installation, you're enjoying the performance boost and a smaller memory and hard drive footprint. But you can take things even further by installing and running another freeware application called Game XP.
Designed to optimize your system settings and speed up your computer to maximize your gaming experience, Game XP can also be used to throttle unnecessary processing and boost the overall performance of your computer. Your mileage may vary when you try out Game XP on your system, but give it a try and watch your performance with and without to see if it changes how your lightweight system runs.
Game XP runs from an executable file, so there's nothing to install. Just run it whenever you want to try out its speed-boosting capabilities.
I haven't had any problems with this program, but I have read a few bad experiences, so proceed with caution. Finally, if you've already gone through all the work of installing and setting up Windows just how you like it, you probably don't want to start with a fresh install with the likes of nLite.
